We would like to thank every single person for participating in the live music project since the last 12 weeks at Baywatch Resort.
Last Saturday INTERNATIONAL BLUES DAY was exceptional we had more than 200 people, all-hanging around enjoying the music, even though everyone didn’t have a table or seat.

‘REUNION OF THE BEAT ROOT BLUES BAND from BOMBAY

The Beat Root Blues Band brings to India a new love affair with electric jump-jive blues and other varied forms — the kind that set juke boxes on fire in the 1950s. The band features sizzling amplified harmonica, guitar and Afro-American-Indo grooves to give audiences a taste of the upbeat blues gravy train –ranging from down home boogie-woogies to stylish and personal takes on Memphis and Chicago style classics. Featuring: Pratish Motwane on lead vocals and harmonica, Rahul Chatterji on lead guitar and vocals.

This dynamic pairing will be playing with each other after 5 years.The Beat Root Blues Band is still one of the hottest BLUES band in the country.

Background of the artists:

Pratish “Pratz” Motwane — (Lead vocals and Harmonica)

‘Pratz’ was seduced by the Blues World when he discovered the harmonica while living in New York. After returning to Mumbai, he joined the Blues Legend Buddy Guy on stage at a historic performance at the NCPA (December 2005). He now brings several years of experience in fronting Blues Bands in the USA, singing and playing Harmonica. He has performed at some of the foremost Blues venues in the USA: Blind Willies, Sambuca Jazz Café (Atlanta), Bar 55 (NYC) and major Blues festivals and clubs. His close friend and music mentor is Blues harmonica legend, Jerry Portnoy (Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, amongst others). He holds an MBA from Wharton School of Business and is also a qualified Electrical Engineer.

Rahul “Chatz” Chatterji — (Guitars/Backing Vocals & Composer)
‘Chatz’ has been playing guitar since he was 10, when he left for the UK and then on to the USA. He has traveled and performed professionally in some of the most famous clubs in New York City USA & EU, having lived in NYC for over 18 years playing in clubs: Dan Lynchs, Chicago Blues, Manny’s Car Wash, CBGBs (to name a few) and, in London (Spice of Life, Red Lion, Ain’t Nothing but the Blues) and many well-known Blues clubs and universities in Amsterdam (NL). He has worked as a guitarist and sessions player in London and New York and very recently, Mumbai, composing music for films, commercials, jingles and more recently, Bollywood. He has acted in the movie “Corner Store Blues” (NYC), playing the lead role, and composing the music for this critically acclaimed film about an Indian Blues Story. He also holds a Bachelors of Science in MIS from New York University (Stern School of Business).
